What is it about your field of work that you love?
There’s a permanent excuse to wander, wonder, experiment & express oneself.

What are your inspirations in doing your craft? How do you keep yourself inspired?
I love deconstructing & reconstructing designs in my mind from practically anything I see: clothes, graffiti, magazines, design books, websites, packaging materials and blogs…even tiles. I’m also guilty of keeping copies of leaflets, brochures, wrappers, boxes & catalogues as references. I also have a stash of travel photos that’s void of landmarks & people; just  posters & ads. :P I sometimes fear that certain ideas would escape me so I type them on my phone right away or write them in my little notebook.

What are your plans for the future in regard to your craft? Where would you like to take it? Where do you see yourself?
I have a couple of stuff in my imaginary wish list. Then again, I’m still playing it by ear…taking it one step at a time. I just go where I think I’ll be happy.

How do you find your Analog Soul in our digital world?

-By finding joy in the simple things or stuff that bring nostalgia: trips to the local bakery for freshly baked non-branded pan de sal in the morning and when I have time, eating lutong bahay or lugaw minutes away from the place where I grew up.

What about your artworks do you believe emanates the uniqueness of Pinoy art/ culture?
Hm…not necessarily capturing the Filipino culture per se but maybe the attempt to take things lightly in the midst of chaos & tragedy

What/ Who is your favorite cartoon character?
They’re more of mascots :P I grew up loving Pong Pagong & Kiko Matsing. Too bad Pong Pagong was just being leased to Batibot by the company that made Sesame Street or so they say.

Who’s playing in your iPod?
Tracks by Jason Mraz, Missy Higgins, Maria Mena, James Blunt & 90’s music when driving. Any upbeat tune or music with long-held notes that make me forget I’m deathly afraid of falling while skating.

What are some of your quirky habits? madness? obsessions? the like..
I’m left handed and I write 90-degrees clockwise. :P

If you would have to choose a non-androgynous name of the opposite sex, what would you pick?
Tukneneng? But that’s androgynous. Haha. Anyway, seriously, maybe Terrence is nice. I was saving it for a baby brother when I was younger. Then a sister came along :)
