SOUL REBEL COMMUNITY ARTIST OF THE MONTH OF DECEMBER 2011

Meet our Soul Rebel Community artist of the month for December’s Humor Collection, Jessica Garcia.
The girl behind the winning designs “HAHA” and “Immortal…not” is actually a Computer Engineering student, currently on her freshman year in Mapua Institute of Technology. She sees herself as a computer junkie, a doodle artist and a musician. During her free time, one would always see her playing her guitar, singing, and jamming with her friends. She likes to doodle and sketch random stuff. Other than those, she’d usually watch movies, listen to music, and eat.
She gets easily amused by things that most people would rather find simple. She likes to observe people whenever she’s alone, because for this, she appreciates life more. And as what she told us, it’s one of the perks of being a wallflower.
God, her family, and her friends may serve as her main inspiration, but life itself is amazing enough to keep her motivated and inspired. According to Jessica, “There are so many things around us that we can turn to for inspiration. We just have to look around.”
Here are a few random secrets and facts about herself that she shared with us:
- She recently learned how to read and write Korean language all by herself, as she badly wants to be a multilingual person.
- She hates Chemistry.
- She has always wanted to form a band and become famous.
- She thinks she’s quite short for her age.
- During Katy Perry’s concert in Manila, her friends got her Katy’s water bottle as she was devastated not being able to attend and see Katy Perry live.
- She wants to be an actress.
When asked what message she could give to her fellow aspiring artists: “Always remember that life isn’t about perfection; rather, it’s about doing the best you can. If you fall 7 times, get up 8 times. Giving up should never be an option. It is through experience that we gain wisdom and become better persons that we can be.”
You may follow Jessica on her Twitter account and become an inspired artist like her too: twitter.com/jezzinmypants
